સ્વીયપત્નીતરાભિસ્તુ રહસિ વસનં સહ।
આપત્કાલં વિના ક્વાપિ ન કુર્યુર્ગૃહિણો નરાઃ॥૧૮૧॥
Svīya-patnītarābhis-tu
rahasi vasanam saha ।
Āpat-kālam vinā kvāpi
na kuryur gṛuhiṇo narāhā ॥181॥
ગૃહસ્થાશ્રમમાં રહ્યા એવા પુરુષોએ પોતાની પત્ની સિવાય અન્ય સ્ત્રીઓ સાથે આપત્કાળ વિના ક્યાંય પણ એકાંતમાં ન રહેવું. (૧૮૧)
Gṛuhasthāshrammā rahyā evā puruṣhoe potānī patnī sivāya anya strīo sāthe āpatkāḷ vinā kyāy paṇ ekāntmā na rahevu. (181)
Except in emergency situations, married men should never remain alone anywhere with women other than their wife. (181)

તથૈવ નહિ નાર્યોઽપિ તિષ્ઠેયુઃ સ્વપતીતરૈઃ।
પુરુષૈઃ સાકમેકાન્તે હ્યાપત્તિસમયં વિના॥૧૮૨॥
Tathaiva na hi nāryo’pi
tiṣhṭheyuh sva-patītaraihi ।
Puruṣhaih sākam-ekānte
hyāpatti-samayam vinā ॥182॥
તે જ રીતે સ્ત્રીઓએ પણ પોતાના પતિ સિવાય અન્ય પુરુષો સાથે આપત્કાળ વિના એકાંતમાં ન રહેવું. (૧૮૨)
Te ja rīte strīoe paṇ potānā pati sivāy anya puruṣho sāthe āpatkāḷ vinā ekāntmā na rahevu. (182)
Similarly, [married] women should never remain alone with men other than their husband, except in emergency situations. (182

નરઃ સમીપસમ્બન્ધ-હીનાં સ્ત્રિયં સ્પૃશેન્નહિ।
નૈવ સ્પૃશેત્ તથા નારી તાદૃશં પુરુષાન્તરમ્॥૧૮૩॥
Narah samīpa-sambandha
hīnām striyam spṛushen-na hi ।
Naiva spṛushet tathā nārī
tādṛusham puruṣhāntaram ॥183॥
પુરુષે સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાની સ્ત્રીનો સ્પર્શ ન કરવો. તે જ રીતે સ્ત્રીએ પોતાને સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાના અન્ય પુરુષનો સ્પર્શ ન કરવો. (૧૮૩)
Puruṣhe samīp sambandh vinānī strīno sparsh na karavo. Te ja rīte strīe potāne samīp sambandh vinānā anya puruṣhno sparsh na karavo. (183)
A male should not touch a female who is not closely related; however, he may respectfully touch one who is closely related. Similarly, a female should not touch a male who is not closely related; however, she may respectfully touch one who is closely related. (183)
Shlok 184

આપત્કાલેઽન્યરક્ષાર્થં સ્પર્શે દોષો ન વિદ્યતે।
અન્યથા નિયમાઃ પાલ્યા અનાપત્તૌ તુ સર્વદા॥૧૮૪॥
Āpat-kāle’nya-rakṣhārtham
sparshe doṣho na vidyate ।
Anyathā niyamāh pālyā
anāpattau tu sarvadā ॥184॥
આપત્કાળ પ્રાપ્ત થતાં અન્યની રક્ષા માટે સ્પર્શ કરવામાં દોષ નથી. પરંતુ જો આપત્કાળ ન હોય તો સદાય નિયમોનું પાલન કરવું. (૧૮૪)
Āpatkāḷ prāpt thatā anyanī rakṣhā māṭe sparsh karavāmā doṣh nathī. Parantu jo āpatkāḷ na hoy to sadāy niyamonu pālan karavu. (184)
In emergency situations, it is not a fault to touch others to protect or save them. However, if there is no emergency, then always obey the niyams. (184)

અશ્લીલં યત્ર દૃશ્યં સ્યાદ્ ધર્મસંસ્કારનાશકમ્।
નાટકચલચિત્રાદિ તન્ન પશ્યેત્ કદાચન॥૧૮૫॥
Ashlīlam yatra dṛushyam syād
dharma-sanskāra-nāshakam ।
Nāṭaka-chala-chitrādi
tan-na pashyet kadāchana ॥185॥
ધર્મ અને સંસ્કારોનો નાશ કરે એવાં અશ્લીલ દૃશ્યો જેમાં આવતાં હોય તેવાં નાટકો કે ચલચિત્રો વગેરે ક્યારેય ન જોવાં. (૧૮૫)
Dharma ane sanskārono nāsh kare evā ashlīl dṛushyo jemā āvatā hoy tevā nāṭako ke chal-chitro vagere kyārey na jovā. (185)
One should never view dramas, films or other media that contain obscene scenes which destroy one’s dharma and sanskārs. (185)

મનુષ્યો વ્યસની યઃ સ્યાદ્ નિર્લજ્જો વ્યભિચારવાન્।
તસ્ય સઙ્ગો ન કર્તવ્યઃ સત્સઙ્ગમાશ્રિતૈર્જનૈઃ॥૧૮૬॥
Manuṣhyo vyasanī yah syād
nirlajjo vyabhichāravān ।
Tasya sango na kartavyah
satsangam-āshritair-janaihi ॥186॥
સત્સંગીજનોએ જે મનુષ્ય વ્યસની, નિર્લજ્જ તથા વ્યભિચારી હોય તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૧૮૬)
Satsangī-janoe je manuṣhya vyasanī, nirlajja tathā vyabhichārī hoy teno sang na karavo. (186)
Satsangis should not associate with people who have addictions, are shameless or are adulterous. (186)

સઙ્ગશ્ચારિત્ર્યહીનાયાઃ કરણીયો નહિ સ્ત્રિયાઃ।
સ્ત્રીભિઃ સ્વધર્મરક્ષાર્થં પાલ્યાશ્ચ નિયમા દૃઢમ્॥૧૮૭॥
Sangash-chāritrya-hīnāyāh
karaṇīyo na hi striyāhā ।
Strībhihi sva-dharma-rakṣhārtham
pālyāsh-cha niyamā dṛaḍham ॥187॥
સ્ત્રીઓએ પોતાના ધર્મની રક્ષા માટે ચારિત્ર્યહીન સ્ત્રીનો સંગ ન કરવો અને દૃઢપણે નિયમોનું પાલન કરવું. (૧૮૭)
Strīoe potānā dharmanī rakṣhā māṭe chāritryahīn strīno sang na karavo ane dṛuḍhpaṇe niyamonu pālan karavu. (187)
To protect one’s dharma, female devotees should not associate with immoral women and should firmly abide by the niyams. (187)
Shlok 188

ન તાદૃક્છૃણુયાદ્ વાચં ગીતં ગ્રન્થં પઠેન્ન ચ।
પશ્યેન્ન તાદૃશં દૃશ્યં યસ્માત્ કામવિવર્ધનમ્॥૧૮૮॥
Na tādṛuk-chhṛuṇuyād vācham
gītam grantham paṭhenna cha ।
Pashyen-na tādṛusham dṛashyam
yasmāt kāma-vivardhanam ॥188॥
જેણે કરીને કામવાસના વૃદ્ધિ પામે તેવી વાતો કે ગીતો ન સાંભળવાં, પુસ્તકો ન વાંચવાં તથા તેવાં દૃશ્યો ન જોવાં. (૧૮૮)
Jeṇe karīne kām-vāsanā vṛuddhi pāme tevī vāto ke gīto na sāmbhaḷavā, pustako na vānchavā tathā tevā dṛushyo na jovā. (188)
One should not listen to talks or songs, read books or view scenes that increase one’s lustful desires. (188)
Shlok 189

ધનદ્રવ્યધરાદીનાં સદાઽઽદાનપ્રદાનયોઃ।
નિયમા લેખસાક્ષ્યાદેઃ પાલનીયા અવશ્યતઃ॥૧૮૯॥
Dhana-dravya-dharādīnām
sadā’dāna-pradānayoho ।
Niyamā lekha-sākṣhyādeh
pālanīyā avashyataha ॥189॥
ધન, દ્રવ્ય તથા જમીન આદિના લેણ-દેણમાં હંમેશાં લિખિત કરવું, સાક્ષીએ સહિત કરવું ઇત્યાદિ નિયમો અવશ્યપણે પાળવા. (૧૮૯)
Dhan, dravya tathā jamīn ādinā leṇ-deṇmā hammeshā likhit karavu, sākṣhīe sahit karavu ityādi niyamo avashyapaṇe pāḷavā. (189)
Transactions of wealth, possessions, land and other assets should always be conducted in writing, in the presence of a witness and by definitely following other such niyams. (189)

પ્રસઙ્ગે વ્યવહારસ્ય સમ્બન્ધિભિરપિ સ્વકૈઃ।
લેખાદિનિયમાઃ પાલ્યાઃ સકલૈરાશ્રિતૈર્જનૈઃ॥૧૯૦॥
Prasange vyavahārasya
sambandhibhir api svakaihi ।
Lekhādi-niyamāh pālyāh
sakalair āshritair janaihi ॥190॥
સર્વ આશ્રિત જનોએ પોતાના સંબંધીઓ સાથે પણ વ્યવહાર પ્રસંગે લિખિત કરવું ઇત્યાદિ નિયમો પાળવા. (૧૯૦)
Sarva āshrit janoe potānā sambandhīo sāthe paṇ vyavahār prasange likhit karavu ityādi niyamo pāḷavā. (190)
All devotees should conduct their social dealings with even their relatives in writing and by following other such niyams. (190)
