ગુર્વાશ્રયવિરોધી યો વૈદિકશાસ્ત્રખણ્ડકઃ।
ભક્તિમાર્ગવિરોધી સ્યાત્ તસ્ય સઙ્ગં ન ચાઽઽચરેત્॥૨૨૧॥
Gurvāshraya-virodhī yo
vaidika-shāstra-khaṇḍakaha ।
Bhakti-mārga-virodhī syāt
tasya sangam na chā’charet ॥221॥
જે મનુષ્ય ગુરુશરણાગતિનો વિરોધ કરતો હોય, વૈદિક શાસ્ત્રોનું ખંડન કરતો હોય, ભક્તિમાર્ગનો વિરોધ કરતો હોય તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૨૨૧)
Je manuṣhya guru-sharaṇāgatino virodh karato hoy, Vaidik shāstronu khanḍan karato hoy, bhakti-mārgno virodh karato hoy teno sang na karavo. (221)
One should not associate with those who oppose taking refuge in a guru, Vedic texts or the path of bhakti. (221)

બુદ્ધિમાનપિ લોકે સ્યાદ્ વ્યાવહારિકકર્મસુ।
ન સેવ્યો ભક્તિહીનશ્ચેચ્છાસ્ત્રપારઙ્ગતોઽપિ વા॥૨૨૨॥
Buddhimān api loke syād
vyāvahārika-karmasu ।
Na sevyo bhakti-hīnash-chech-
chhāstra-pārangato’pi vā ॥222॥
કોઈ મનુષ્ય લોકમાં વ્યાવહારિક કાર્યોમાં બુદ્ધિવાળો હોય અથવા શાસ્ત્રોમાં પારંગત પણ હોય, તેમ છતાં પણ જો તે ભક્તિએ રહિત હોય તો તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૨૨૨)
Koī manuṣhya lokmā vyāvahārik kāryomā buddhivāḷo hoy athavā shāstromā pārangat paṇ hoy, tem chhatā paṇ jo te bhaktie rahit hoy to teno sang na karavo. (222)
One should avoid the company of a person who is devoid of devotion, even if such a person is intelligent in worldly activities or learned in the shastras. (222)

શ્રદ્ધામેવ તિરસ્કૃત્ય હ્યાધ્યાત્મિકેષુ કેવલમ્।
પુરસ્કરોતિ યસ્તર્કં તત્સઙ્ગમાચરેન્નહિ॥૨૨૩॥
Shraddhām eva tiras kṛutya
hyādhyātmikeṣhu kevalam ।
Puras-karoti yas-tarkam
tat-sangam-ācharen-na hi ॥223॥
આધ્યાત્મિક વિષયોમાં શ્રદ્ધાનો જ તિરસ્કાર કરી જે મનુષ્ય કેવળ તર્કને જ આગળ કરતો હોય તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૨૨૩)
Ādhyātmik viṣhayomā shraddhāno ja tiraskār karī je manuṣhya kevaḷ tarkane ja āgaḷ karato hoy teno sang na karavo. (223)
One should not associate with those who ridicule faith in spiritual matters and promote logic alone. (223)

સત્સઙ્ગેઽપિ કુસઙ્ગો યો જ્ઞેયઃ સોઽપિ મુમુક્ષુભિઃ।
તત્સઙ્ગશ્ચ ન કર્તવ્યો હરિભક્તૈઃ કદાચન॥૨૨૪॥
Satsange’pi kusango yo
gneyah so’pi mumukṣhubhihi ।
Tat-sangash-cha na kartavyo
haribhaktaih kadāchana ॥224॥
મુમુક્ષુ હરિભક્તોએ સત્સંગમાં રહેલ કુસંગને પણ જાણવો અને ક્યારેય તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૨૨૪)
Mumukṣhu haribhaktoe satsangmā rahel kusangne paṇ jāṇavo ane kyārey teno sang na karavo. (224)
Mumukshu devotees should also recognize kusang within satsang and should never associate with it. (224)

હરૌ ગુરૌ ચ પ્રત્યક્ષે મનુષ્યભાવદર્શનઃ।
શિથિલો નિયમે યશ્ચ ન તસ્ય સઙ્ગમાચરેત્॥૨૨૫॥
Harau gurau cha pratyakṣhe
manuṣhya-bhāva-darshanaha ।
Shithilo niyame yash-cha
na tasya sangam ācharet ॥225॥
જે મનુષ્ય પ્રત્યક્ષ ભગવાનમાં અને ગુરુમાં મનુષ્યભાવ જોતો હોય અને નિયમ પાળવામાં શિથિલ હોય તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૨૨૫)
Je manuṣhya pratyakṣh Bhagwānmā ane gurumā manuṣhyabhāv joto hoy ane niyam pāḷavāmā shithil hoy teno sang na karavo. (225)
One should avoid the company of those who are lax in observing niyams or see human traits in the manifest form of Bhagwan or the guru. (225)

ભક્તેષુ દોષદૃષ્ટિઃ સ્યાદ્ અવગુણૈકભાષકઃ।
મનસ્વી યો ગુરુદ્રોહી ન ચ તત્સઙ્ગમાચરેત્॥૨૨૬॥
Bhakteṣhu doṣha-dṛuṣhṭih syād
avaguṇaika-bhāṣhakaha ।
Manasvī yo guru-drohī na
cha tat-sangam ācharet ॥226॥
જે મનુષ્ય ભક્તોમાં દોષ જોનાર, અવગુણની જ વાતો કરનાર, મનસ્વી અને ગુરુદ્રોહી હોય તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૨૨૬)
Je manuṣhya bhaktomā doṣh jonār, avaguṇnī ja vāto karanār, manasvī ane gurudrohī hoy teno sang na karavo. (226)
One should avoid the company of those who perceive drawbacks in devotees, speak only ill of others, are wilful or disobey the guru. (226)

સત્કાર્યનિન્દકો યશ્ચ સચ્છાસ્ત્રનિન્દકો જનઃ।
સત્સઙ્ગનિન્દકો યશ્ચ તત્સઙ્ગમાચરેન્નહિ॥૨૨૭॥
Sat-kārya-nindako yash-cha
sach-chhāstra-nindako janaha ।
Satsanga-nindako yash-cha
tat-sangam ācharen-na hi ॥227॥
જે મનુષ્ય સત્કાર્ય, સચ્છાસ્ત્ર તથા સત્સંગની નિંદા કરતો હોય તેનો સંગ ન કરવો. (૨૨૭)
Je manuṣhya satkārya, sachchhāstra tathā satsangnī nindā karato hoy teno sang na karavo. (227)
One should not associate with those who defame noble works, sacred texts or satsang. (227)
Shlok 228

વચનાનાં શ્રુતેર્યસ્ય નિષ્ઠાયા ભઞ્જનં ભવેત્।
ગુરૌ હરૌ ચ સત્સઙ્ગે તસ્ય સઙ્ગં પરિત્યજેત્॥૨૨૮॥
Vachanānām shruter yasya
niṣhṭhāyā bhanjanam bhavet ।
Gurau Harau cha satsange
tasya sangam pari-tyajet ॥228॥
જેની વાતો સાંભળવાથી ભગવાન, ગુરુ તથા સત્સંગને વિષે નિષ્ઠા ટળતી હોય તેનો સંગ ત્યજવો. (૨૨૮)
Jenī vāto sāmbhaḷavāthī Bhagwān, guru tathā satsangne viṣhe niṣhṭhā ṭaḷatī hoy teno sang tyajavo. (228)
One should shun the company of those whose words weaken one’s conviction in Bhagwan, the guru or satsang. (228)
Shlok 229

ભવેદ્ યો દૃઢનિષ્ઠાવાન્ અક્ષરપુરુષોત્તમે।
દૃઢભક્તિર્વિવેકી ચ કુર્યાત્ તત્સઙ્ગમાદરાત્॥૨૨૯॥
Bhaved yo dṛaḍha-niṣhṭhāvān
Akṣhara-Puruṣhottame ।
Dṛaḍha-bhaktir-vivekī cha
kuryāt tat-sangam ādarāt ॥229॥
જેને અક્ષરપુરુષોત્તમને વિષે દૃઢ નિષ્ઠા હોય, દૃઢ ભક્તિ હોય અને જે વિવેકી હોય તેનો સંગ આદર થકી કરવો. (૨૨૯)
Jene Akṣhar-Puruṣhottamne viṣhe dṛuḍh niṣhṭhā hoy, dṛuḍh bhakti hoy ane je vivekī hoy teno sang ādar thakī karavo. (229)
One should respectfully associate with a person who has firm devotion and conviction in Akshar-Purushottam and who is discerning. (229)

હરેર્ગુરોશ્ચ વાક્યેષુ શઙ્કા યસ્ય ન વિદ્યતે।
વિશ્વાસુર્બુદ્ધિમાન્ યશ્ચ કુર્યાત્ તત્સઙ્ગમાદરાત્॥૨૩૦॥
Harer-gurosh-cha vākyeṣhu
shankā yasya na vidyate ।
Vishvāsur buddhimān yash-cha
kuryāt tat-sangam ādarāt ॥230॥
ભગવાન તથા ગુરુનાં વાક્યોમાં જેને સંશય ન હોય, જે વિશ્વાસુ હોય, બુદ્ધિમાન હોય તેનો સંગ આદર થકી કરવો. (૨૩૦)
Bhagwān tathā gurunā vākyomā jene sanshay na hoy, je vishvāsu hoy, buddhimān hoy teno sang ādar thakī karavo. (230)
One should respectfully associate with those who do not doubt the words of Bhagwan or the guru, and are trustworthy and wise. (230)
