Gun Grahan: [Write down 3 qualities of people you have met, seen, or heard about this week, and share these with your family.]

In today’s Parva Pack, let us uncover Pramukh Swami’s prasang showing us how much love, care and concern He has for all of His Haribhaktos; today’s pack looks at children and Bapa’s connection.

Prasang 1:

In London there were two brothers, Vijay and Devesh and they always came to the mandir together.  They would come to do the darshan of Thakorji and Swamishri together.  They would also sit in the sabha together.  At the end of sabha, Swamishri would bless them with joyful smiles.  Then they would have prasad together.  And finally they would go home together.  Almost everything, these two brothers did together.

One day only Vijay came to the mandir.  After doing Thakorji’s darshan he came for Swamishri’s darshan.  Swamishri glanced at him with a blessed smile.  Then suddenly, Swamishri noticed that someone was missing.  Swamishri asked, “Vijay, where is Devesh today?”  Vijay was so surprised that Swamishri had remembered their names!  Vijay was also happy that Swamishri noticed that he had come alone.

Vijay said, “Swami, today he has gone to meet his friend.”

Swamishri responded right after saying, “Wah! I am his friend too!”  Swamishri then said with deep affection, “Please tell him to come and meet me also!”

When we look at this, Swamishri is a real friend to all kids.  Swamishri is a friend who loves us, he is a friend who is eager to meet us, and he is a friend who guides us on the right path.  Swamishri is a friend who remembers us even if we forget him.  We must never forget him in any way and we must always keep him as our very best friend for life.

Prasang 2:

On 15 June 2007 Swamishri was in Chicago having his meal while one of the karyakars was giving a report on the Bal/Balika Mandals.  He said, “There was a nine year old balika who spent one and a half months making one of her classmates give up eating meat.  In the same manner there was a six year old balika who explained the Akshar Purushottam Upasana to her entire class.”  Hearing this report Swamishri was very pleased.

That same day a 10 year old balika had sent a hand woven cotton hat for Swamishri.  Seeing the devotion of young children Swamishri was very pleased and gave the father blessings.  Swamishri took the hat in his hands and looked at its fine craftsmanship and in this way fulfilled the devotees wish.

Discussion:

  • What can we learn from these prasangs?
  • What can we do to make Bapa happy? How should we make him happy? What thoughts should we have/ keep?
  • How is Bapa’s relationship like with Balaks and Balikas?
  • Who does Bapa mean to you? What do you think Bapa has done for you?
  • Is Swami our true friend? In what way is He our true friend?

Main Activity: "Chain of Friendship and Kindness" (15 minutes):

  • Step 1: Pair or Small Group Discussion
    • Divide into pairs or small groups.
    • Please share:
      • One thing you’ve done recently to help or be kind to someone.
      • A way you can act as a good friend (like Swamishri in the prasangs).
  • Step 2: Create a Friendship/Kindness Pledge
    • Each child writes or draws one thing they’ll do this week to be a good friend or help someone. (Example: "I will invite my new classmate to play," or "I will help my sibling with their homework.")
    • Collect these pledges and attach them to a string or tape to form a “Friendship Chain” to display.

Summary:

Bapa has done so much for us - what can we do for Him? In what ways has Bapa changed your life? Bapa has always given so much love and happiness to everyone - at all times. He has truly sacrificed His whole life for the betterment of others. Even when we do something wrong, He comes in to rescue us and forgives us. We are truly blessed to have a ‘TRUE FRIEND’ like Him.
