Mahant Parva - Day 3

Man Part 2 - Smruti

Discussion Points:

  1. So, we have this prapti. How do we cash it in? It is a bit like having a cheque for £1 million. You can’t just enjoy this piece of paper, but you can enjoy the fruits of that piece of paper. Similarly, we need to cash it in to enjoy the fruits of this prapti.
  2. Mahant Swami Maharaj is truly special. He has God living inside him. He has come down from Akshardham to be with us, to meet us, to play with us, to feed us. Because of this, every second we spend with Mahant Swami Maharaj, we get joy out of it. Here’s the catch - every second we remember the time we spent with Mahant Swami Maharaj, we also get joy out of it.
    1. How many of you like chocolate?
    2. How long does it take to put one M&M in your mouth?
    3. How many M&Ms can you put in your mouth in one day? There are 86,400 seconds in a day, that means that in one day, you can fit 86,400 M&Ms! Sounds fun, right?
    4. In the same way, if you have even spent one second with Swamishri, you can remember that over and over again and you can take the joy of this smruti not just for one second, but for 86,400 seconds! That’s the magic of doing smruti.
  3. There are so many different times throughout the day where you can remember Swamishri.
    1. One such time is when we are studying. How many of you have had the chance to prepare, to memorise and to present mukhpath in front of Mahant Swami Maharaj? Remember how happy Bapa was and how happy he was that you prepared something
Every time we sit down to study, we can remember this joy of Bapa
    2. Another time is every time we eat.
      1. Who likes eating food? What is everyone’s favourite food?
      2. Who has seen Mahant Swami Maharaj feed chocolate or any other food item in anyone’s mouth?
        1. If you can remember that every time you eat, we can take the joy of these smrutis every time.
    3. Another time is when we go to sleep.
      1. Who remembers the stories and the analogies that Mahant Swami Maharaj gave to us during Shishu Din?
      2. Now imagine Mahant Swami Maharaj sitting on the side of your bed, putting his hand on our head, him telling us a story and putting us to sleep. This is a way of doing smruti of Mahant Swami Maharaj throughout our day.
  4. What are the benefits of doing smruti? How does it help you on Mission: Jodan? How does it help you link up with the headquarters?
  5. What are the main ways of doing smruti?
Snap a picture, write a note, Oor record a happy sound.
Smruti storage keeps them all free, and memories unbound.
Instant connection to Bapa, a treasure chest you can’t beat.
But beware, if you don’t refresh them, your smrutis will delete!
  6. Our Gurus have repeatedly recalled various divine smrutis.
    1. Mahant Swami Maharaj, shortly after becoming the Guru, visited Junagadh in October 2016. He was playing a small “Ruchi Quiz” in which Santos were trying to get to know Mahant Swami Maharaj a little bit better.
They asked Mahant Swami Maharaj: “What is your favourite Mandir?” Mahant Swami Maharaj, to everyone’s surprise, said: “Gondal.” That took everyone by surprise - they had all guessed that Mahant Swami Maharaj would say ‘Bochasan’ because he lived there for many years and that was Shastriji Maharaj’s first mandir. When they asked Mahant Swami Maharaj why he chose Gondal, he replied that he had many smrutis with Yogiji Maharaj at Gondal.
So, we learn from our Gurus to like anything that links you to your Guru.
  7. What is your favourite smruti of Mahant Swami Maharaj from 2023?
